Rules & Regulations

  • On-spot registration at OtaZo Official Booth.
  • Only 1 participant per entry.
  • No repeat entry is allowed.
  • RM10.00 registration fee per participant, per entry. (Refer registration form for more details)
  • Participants are required to report themselves at the backstage area 1 hour before the competition starts
  • Props and costume inspection will be conducted backstage 45 minutes before the competition starts.
  • Any undeclared props showcased on stage will result in disqualification of the participant.
  • Participants can cosplay any character. Original Character are welcome.
  • Costumes must be flexible enough to enter and exit the competition/stage area.
  • NO revealing costume is allowed.
  • NO nudity is allowed. (this includes half naked male cosplayer unless bodysuit is worn).
  • NO inappropriate costumes are allowed.
  • NO military cosplay (milicos) is allowed.
  • NO projectile props allowed to be “use” on stage.
  • NO helpers are allowed to be on stage.
  • NO real weapons, realistic weapons, replica weapons based on real guns, sharp weapons, or any props that might cause harm to humans, participants or the environment are allowed on stage. (wooden unsharpen katana is allowed).
  • NO confetti, water, fire, powder, harmful substances or anything that might cause messiness is not allowed on stage.
  • NO vulgar language, nudity or sensitive content is allowed.
  • NO audio submission is required.
  • NO cosplay reference submission is required.
  • Only registered participants are allowed on stage once the performance has started.
  • Performances are only allowed on the stage. Any off stage performance/interaction will result in disqualification.
  • Each participant will be given 30 seconds to do any poses on the stage.
  • Any performance that is performed on stage is at the risk of the participant and the organising team will not be responsible for any harm/injuries which happens during the event.
  • Decisions made by Judges of OtaZo 2024 Cosplay Competition are final. No dispute will be entertained.

  • Judging Criteria
    Punctuality10%Being on time is an important manners for any competition
    Overall On Stage Visual Appearance50%How well is the overall look on stage and the general impact of the overall character on stage
    Creativity40%Any creative skills shows on costume/props/posing/performing
  • OtaZo 2024 reserves the right to change the rules & regulations without prior notice.
  • OtaZo 2024 reserves the right to use participants’ images and recording of performance for promotional purposes without any prior notice.
  • By entering the competition, registered participants agreed to not indemnify the organiser of OtaZo, its organiser, GEKI Event Management and its committee of any damages or liabilities from participating in this competition.
  • Prize
    • Grand Prize: Medal + Cash Prize RM300 + Certificate
    • Consolation: Medal + Cash Prize RM50 + Certificate (3 consolation prizes)
