Starlight Cos-Parade Competition

🥁  Rules & Regulations  🥁

  • Ticket/Pass is not included.
  • Register Online here or On-spot registration at Otakyun! Official Booth.
  • Registration will close on 31st October 2026 12.00pm 
  • The competition will be on Day 1 of Oktayun! 2026 (Time: please refer to the official schedule update).
  • Only 1 participant per entry.
  • No repeat entry is allowed.
  • RM10.00 registration fee per participant, per entry. (Refer registration form for more details)
  • Participants are required to report themselves at the backstage area 1 hour before the parade starts.
  • Props and costume inspection will be conducted backstage 45 minutes before the parade starts.
  • Actual schedule kindly refer to the announcement post on official Facebook/Instagram page.
  • Any undeclared props showcased during the parade will result in disqualification of the participant.
  • Participants can cosplay any character. Original Characters are welcome.
  • Costumes must be flexible enough to maneuver throughout the parade area.
  • NO revealing costume is allowed.
  • NO nudity is allowed. (this includes half naked male cosplayer unless bodysuit is worn).
  • NO inappropriate costumes are allowed.
  • NO military cosplay (milicos) is allowed.
  • NO projectile props allowed to be “used” during the parade.
  • NO helpers are allowed during the parade.
  • NO real weapons, realistic weapons, replica weapons based on real guns, sharp weapons, or any props that might cause harm to humans, participants or the environment are allowed during the parade. (wooden unsharpen katana is allowed).
  • NO confetti, water, fire, powder, harmful substances or anything that might cause messiness is not allowed during the parade.
  • NO vulgar language, nudity or sensitive content is allowed.
  • NO audio submission is required.
  • NO cosplay reference submission is required.
  • Only registered participants are allowed in the parade.
  • Participants are to strictly follow the group during the parade. Anyone caught getting out of the group or doing anything unnecessary will result in disqualification.
  • Each participant will be given a few chances to do poses to attract votes during the parade.
  • The organising team will not be responsible for any harm/injuries which happens during the event.
  • Decisions made by Judges of Otakyun! 2026 Cosplay Parade is final. No dispute will be entertained.
  • Otakyun 2026 reserves the right to change the rules & regulations without prior notice.
  • Otakyun 2026 reserves the right to use participants’ images and recording of performance for promotional purposes without any prior notice.
  • By entering the competition, registered participants agreed to not indemnify the organiser of Otakyun!, its organiser, GEKI Event Management and its committee of any damages or liabilities from participating in this competition.
  • Lastly, have fun.

🥁  Cosplay Parade Sequence 🥁

  1. Participants must register themselves/check-in with the programme organiser 1 hour before the parade starts at the stage area.
  2. Props and costume check will be conducted 45 minutes before the parade starts.
  3. The props and costume check will be done to ensure no rules breaking costume/props is being carried/shown.
  4. Participants will be given a number each.
  5. The parade will be led by the committee to parade around the event area.
  6. The parade will go around the event area for 3 times.
  7. Participants will have to try their best to show and wave their numbers to get votes.
  8. Audience along the parade route will receive a voting paper before the parade begins and will be required to cast their vote at the designated booth after the parade ends.
  9. Results will be announced on the same day of the Cos-Parade at Otakyun! 2026. The winner will be announced during the prize giving ceremony.
  10. Each participant will also receive an e-certificate of participation after the prize giving ceremony

    • Grand Prize (1 Winner) – RM350 cash + Starlight Trophy + Certificate
    • Consolation Prize (3 Winners) – RM50 cash + Certificate
