🎨 Competition Terms & Conditions
- This is an online art contest.
- The Competition is open to all Malaysians and Non-Malaysians residing within Malaysia. All ages are welcome.
- Participants under 18 must have parental or guardian consent. Download consent letter here – Consent Letter
- NO AI generated art/AI tracing is allowed, if discovered the artwork will be disqualified immediately and the participant will be blacklisted.
- There is no limitation regarding the illustration software or materials used to create the artworks.
- All entries MUST draw our mascots Akari-chan and Gao-nyan including their trademark accessories. Kazuki-kun is Optional but recommended.
- The character sheet can be downloaded here – Akari-chan, Kazuki-kun & Gao-Nyan
- Emiko-chan & Akari chan alter (Matsuri outfit ) shall not be included in this artwork
- DO NOT genderbend Otakyun’s Mascot
- The Participant MUST have a full copyright of their submitted work.
- Plagiarise of existing or another party’s artwork will be disqualified.
🎨 Competition Submission
- Artwork submissions is open from now to 26th October 2025 .
- Submission is free of charge.
- All submitted artworks must be artwork created with illustration software or in traditional method.
- Traditional artworks (e.g., color pencils, watercolors, inks, technical pens etc) must be scanned in high quality. For Digital artworks, submissions must be in high quality with minimum 300 dpi and at least 2,000 pixels wide.
- Artwork mode should be in A4 size (Portrait/Landscape).
- File size must not exceed 50MBs.
- Only PNG and JPEG image file formats will be accepted.
- Works containing pornography, religion, politics, racism, promoting violence, LGBT, viral negative influence meme or any unrelated ACG elements won’t be accepted.
- There is no limit to the number of artworks that a Participant can submit.
- Submissions with very low quality will be disqualified.
- All submissions are final, so please make sure all information provided is complete and correct. Entries with missing or incorrect details will be disqualified.
- Participants will receive an email confirmation of their submission right after registering. Please check registered email/spam mail.
- Submitted artworks will be evaluated and published on Otakyun!’s social media platforms on 29th October 2025. Disqualified works will be excluded.
- By entering this competition, participants acknowledge and accept the stated rules and agree to abide by the decisions made by GEM.

* A well-crafted artist statement is an essential part of your submission. It should clearly convey your inspiration, artistic intent, and the key themes reflected in your work. Keep it focused and concise, less than 300 words, and ensure it complements and reinforces the overall message of your artwork.

- All Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
- The Winners will be informed personally via email/contact number as per submitted in the form.
- Award winner candidates will receive a special event tag or wristband ticket, providing full access to Otakyun! 2025 for all two days.
- The Winners will be announced on 2nd November 2025, Sunday during Otakyun! 2025 and online on the Organiser’s social media platforms.
- Prize winners are encouraged to attend the Prize Giving Ceremony at Otakyun! 2025 on Sunday, 2nd November 2025. If a winner is unable to attend, the prize will be delivered to them at a later date (within Malaysia), with further details to be provided.
- If the awarded Artworks are deemed to be invalid by any reason, alternate winners will be selected. Decision is final.
🎨 General Rules
- The Competition is organised by Geki Events Management (GEM), called herein the Organiser.
- By taking part in the Competition, the Participant agrees to the official rules and regulations set by the Organiser.
- By entering the competition, the Participant represents, acknowledges, and warrants that the submitted artwork is an original work created solely by the Participant, that the creation does not infringe on any copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim, or interest in the image
- All copyrights during and after the competition belong to the Participant and provide consent to the Organiser to publish it. The Organiser may showcase or use the artworks submitted in the Competition on its website and social media and to use them for marketing purposes.
- Artworks must not be watermarked, either by any external source, any company logos, trademarks or otherwise display copyrighted content which does not belong to the Participant. Personal logos , signatures and social media platforms are allowed.
- The theme of the winning Artwork under Best Theme Award will be used by the Organiser as Otakyun! 2026 theme.
🎨 Additional Information
The Organiser reserves the right to amend, change or modify the Terms and Conditions and Rules and Regulations without informing the Participants beforehand.
